Weddings

For this reason a man will leave his father and mother and be united to his wife, and the two will become one flesh. — Ephesians 5:31

Congratulations

We are delighted you are considering Christian Fellowship Church for the celebration of your wedding. Whether you consider us your church home or this is your first acquaintance, our desire is to do everything possible to make this occasion one that will be rich & meaningful. Your wedding day will be one of the most important days of your life, and we are honored to be a part of this memorable event. We pray for God’s blessing during the planning of your wedding and throughout your lives together.

WE BELIEVE

“But from the beginning of creation, God made them male and female. Therefore a man shall leave his father and mother and hold fast to his wife, and the two shall become one flesh. So they are no longer two but one flesh. What therefore God has joined together, let not man separate.” – Mark 10:6-9

We believe marriage was instituted by God and blessed by our Lord Jesus Christ. A wedding is a worship service before God and should be treated as a holy and sacred event.

Pre-Marital Counseling

At Christian Fellowship Church, it is our conviction that we are responsible before God to do the best we can to prepare couples for the demands and responsibilities of marriage. We have confidence that the marriages we perform will be blessed by God and have the best possible preparation. The way we do this is by being completely committed to God’s standards and His best, rather than to do what might be convenient for others and ourselves. There is a necessity for practical preparation for the many adjustments that will take place in marriage. Therefore, the premarital sessions are designated as preventative counseling and instruction given to aid the development of healthy, happy, and well-balanced Christian homes.

At your initial meeting with the pastor, he will administer the FOCCUS Inventory (Facilitating Open Couple Communication, Understanding and Study). This self-scoring inventory will help you and your fiancé evaluate your relationship in terms of strengths and growth areas. Once you both have completed the inventory, the pastor will assign a mentoring couple to meet with you for six sessions to work through the inventory. Mentoring couples are those who have been married a minimum of 15 years and have been trained to facilitate the inventory and premarital counseling process. When you complete the mentoring process, you will then meet with the pastor prior to your wedding date to plan the ceremony.
